Francis X. Bossle, CPA

Frank is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Loyola College (Maryland). Frank’s undergraduate degree is in accounting and his MBA graduate degree has a concentration in management. He has more than two decades experience in conducting and managing internal Audits. He was appointed the first executive director of a new combined Office of Internal Audits for the John Hopkins Institute in September 2000. Prior to joining higher education, Frank worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as Director of Client Services, Internal Audit Services which was responsible for developing internal audit practice for insurance and healthcare companies in the United States and Bermuda. He also served as Vice President of Internal Audit at USF&G Corporation, a dynamic multi-billion dollar insurance company. While there he re-engineered the internal audit function, developed an investigations unit, implemented staff rotation model, implemented innovative audit practices, and turned Internal Audit into a profit center achieving savings/recoveries. His career was launched at Coopers & Lybrand working in various positions of the audit practice with primary emphasis on insurance industry, public utilities, manufacturing, professional service and not-for-profit sectors.

Frank has served ACUA as the Accounting Principles Committee chairperson and chaired the research audit roundtable for several years. Frank has served on the Institute of Internal Auditors Baltimore chapter as a Board member. He also chairs the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund Allocation Committee, which was created in 2007 from the vision of then-President William R. Brody to support nonprofit organizations that both serve the communities in close proximity to Hopkins campuses and are associated with Johns Hopkins through employee and / or institutional involvement. Designations made to the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund assist local nonprofit organizations' efforts to build stronger neighborhoods by addressing needs in areas of community revitalization, education, employment, health, and public safety.

Mr. Bossle’s areas of expertise are:
