Scholarship Criteria

The ACUA Scholarship Interest Group is pleased to announce to ACUA members the opportunity to apply for scholarships for continuing college or university education. Scholarships will be made available for undergraduate or graduate students in degree programs leading to careers in accounting, auditing, finance and/or higher education administration. [Note: Each applicant is limited to (2) two awards, based upon competitive evaluation.] Applications should be received by May 31, 2008.

Selection Criteria

  1. Undergraduates newly enrolled in ACUA member institutions with a high school minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.  Upon enrollment, undergraduates must maintain that same 2.5 GPA to be eligible.  Preference will be given to those individuals employed full or part-time with an ACUA member auditing office. Full-time or part-time students can apply.
  2. Graduate students newly enrolled in ACUA member institutions with an undergraduate minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Upon enrollment, graduates must maintain that same 3.0 GPA to be eligible.  Preference will be given to those individuals employed full or part-time with an ACUA member auditing office. Full-time or part-time students can apply.
  3. Applicants must be enrolled at the time of application.
  4. Applicants should complete the attached application and write a single page essay describing their degree program, current job responsibilities, statement of financial requirements, and why interested in higher education internal audit and/or higher education administration.
  5. A written recommendation from the ACUA institutional representative. In the case where the applicant is the institutional representative, a letter of recommendation from the applicant's immediate supervisor is required.
  6. Copy of official high school, undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts.

Note: The number of scholarships is based on funds available and dependent on approval by the ACUA Board of Directors. Historically, several undergraduate and graduate scholarships have been awarded at $500 each.
