2005
Midyear Seminar
2005 Midyear was held in Miami at the Hyatt Regency April 10-13, 2005. Miami was a favorite spot of ACUAns as 236 attendees registered for the conference. A reception on the waterfront and bus trips to South Beach perked up attendees after long days in class.
Annual Conference
2005 Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon was kicked off by a special invitation from our alliance partner, EthicsPoint, who invited everyone out to a vineyard for a special user’s group meeting, vineyard tour and reception. The conference was held September 18–22, 2005. Keynote speakers for this event were: Troy Campbell, Senior Consultant for The Center for Generational Studies, who discussed Managing Age Diversity in Today’s Workplace. Past Chair of the IIA, Betty McPhilimy, Northwestern University, spoke on Internal Auditors in the Spotlight. Dr. John C. Cavanaugh, President of the University of West Florida, presented "Riders in the Storm" a descriptive presentation on what it takes to prepare for and survive a category 4 or 5 hurricane. His insightful presentation inspired many to re-evaluate their own disaster recovery plans.
