Midyear Seminar
2006 Midyear was held in San Antonio, TX. As usual, our Texas ACUAns supported us in full force with another record attendance of 279 people. Highlights included a Monday night reception at Alamo Plaza that was Texas style with a live Mariachi band and singers. The hotel was right on the waterfront, with plenty of fun things to do and see after classes were out.
Annual Conference
2006 Annual Conference, held in Louisville, KY on September 10–14, 2006, changed tone a bit as we brought in more motivational speakers. John Alston, nationally acclaimed speaker and founder of the Stress Management Institute of America, shared his humorous, interactive and thought-provoking presentation that uplifted and empowered participants. Sam E. Antar, reformed criminal and former Chief Financial Officer of Crazy Eddie, Inc., shared how he was able to perpetrate one of the largest security frauds of its time. Mark Towers wrapped up the conference with his presentation: Communication Is Everything and Everything We Do: Communicates Strategies That Get Results.
